LCD Engineering Resources for OEM Projects

Practical guides for selecting, reviewing and validating TFT LCD modules before design freeze, sample approval, replacement or quotation.

Find the right review path for your project stage

Start with the engineering question that is blocking your project. Each guide is designed to help you identify what needs to be confirmed before the next decision.

Plan the Display

Review module size, resolution, interface, brightness target and operating environment before committing to a display direction.

Explore TFT LCD module options

Review the Electrical Fit

Compare the actual host board, signal interface, timing, FPC route and connector requirements instead of relying on physical appearance alone.

Review LCD interface choices

Review the Optical Stack

Discuss touch, cover lens, AG/AR/AF options and air-gap or optical-bonding requirements in the context of the final application.

Compare optical bonding and air gap

Validate or Replace a Module

Use a structured review for a delivered sample or discontinued display, including the drawing, electrical requirements, enclosure and operating conditions.

Use the sample validation checklist

Questions to answer before the next LCD decision

What should be checked before requesting an LCD quote?

Share the known size, resolution, interface, brightness target, touch or cover-lens needs, operating environment, quantity and mechanical constraints. A drawing or photo of the current part can help when available.

Can an LCD replacement be approved from size and connector appearance alone?

No. Compare the actual drawing, pinout, electrical requirements, timing, FPC route, backlight method, optical stack, enclosure and operating conditions before treating a replacement as compatible.

When should optical bonding be discussed?

Discuss it when reflection, contrast under ambient light, touch-stack construction, condensation resistance or cover-lens integration materially affect the application. The appropriate stack depends on the project requirements.
