LCD Smearing in the Cold: What a −20°C Rating Leaves Out
An LCD can power up within its temperature rating and still leave old digits visible during an update. Separate room-temperature response specifications, the first usable cold-start screen, and the time to a clear new…
Camera Banding or LCD Flicker? What a Phone Video Can—and Cannot—Tell You
Bands moving across an LCD in a phone video are a recorded-image observation. They do not by themselves show a defect, the optical source, the frequency, or that a clean clip means a flicker-free…
TFT LCD White Screen After Power-On: Startup and Interface Diagnostics
A practical diagnostic guide for TFT LCD white-screen faults after power-on, covering image data, reset timing, power rails, FPC connections and host-board compatibility.
TFT Display Resets After Touch: An ESD Ingress Review
When a display garbles, resets, flickers or goes blank after contact with a front surface, enclosure, cable or exposed interface, start by recording the event. Do not begin by assuming that the LCD module…
TFT LCD Flickering: Causes and OEM Troubleshooting
TFT LCD flickering is a symptom, not a root cause. First determine whether the visible event follows the backlight, image data, power/reset sequence or FPC connection. Then capture one repeatable event before changing the…
Why an LCD Becomes Dim in the Field: Backlight, Thermal and Enclosure Review for OEMs
A dim LCD is a symptom, not a diagnosis. A display can lose usable brightness because of the backlight path, dimming control, host board, optical stack, heat inside the final enclosure, or a mismatch…
TFT LCD Image Retention vs Burn-In: Causes and Prevention
Learn why TFT LCD image retention happens, how checkerboard-to-gray tests are judged, and what industrial HMI teams should specify to reduce ghost images.
TFT LCD Red/Blue Mura: Root Cause and Prevention
Learn why TFT LCD red/blue mura appears after pressure damage, how PI scratches create color spots, and which module process controls reduce the risk.
Common Project Questions
What should be checked before requesting an LCD quote?
Share the known size, resolution, interface, brightness target, touch or cover-lens needs, operating environment, quantity and mechanical constraints. A drawing or photo of the current part can help when available.
Can an LCD replacement be approved from size and connector appearance alone?
No. Compare the actual drawing, pinout, electrical requirements, timing, FPC route, backlight method, optical stack, enclosure and operating conditions before treating a replacement as compatible.
When should optical bonding be discussed?
Discuss it when reflection, contrast under ambient light, touch-stack construction, condensation resistance or cover-lens integration materially affect the application. The appropriate stack depends on the project requirements.
Have A Project-Specific Question?
Send the requirements you already know, and mark any open items. Our team can review the display in the context of your product.
