S3423D has six large digits with two decimal points, a cubic-metre unit and fixed Chinese legends above and below the numeric field. The chamfered glass carries a single row of 18 pins along the top edge.

The source application is water meters. The fixed legends cover arrears, fault, low voltage, valve open, valve closed, complete, unit price, recharge, remaining, total and yuan. They are display artwork only and do not provide metering, valve control or payment functions.

Do the legends mean S3423D controls a valve or handles payment?
No. The legends are fixed display artwork. Valve control, metering and prepaid functions are part of the meter electronics and are specified separately.
